To me, the term "exotic" is offensive even more. No one would call me "Oriental."
"Exotic" is something so subtle and out of the way, that it is even more ignorable of a topic to care about. It means someone stitched themselves together in an unfeeling, obtuse http://bit.ly/1Ckf5xi way and will never get past people's judgement at how simple they are racially.
It "doesn't take much" to look exotic, especially for a brunette. It's a cheap, simple way of looking attractive. You just open your eyes wider and suck in your face and it becomes a thing. It has nothing to do with social intelligence.
